tradition
In the European tradition of wine brotherhoods, which date back to the 11th century, The Oregon Wine Brotherhood (OWB) is an association of individuals, both within and independent of the wine industry, dedicated to promoting and supporting the wines of Oregon through education, scholarships, ceremony and brotherhood. Our many gatherings and events are designed to promote and celebrate the wines of our region and provide opportunities for our members to enjoy the camaraderie of the brotherhood.
The Grand Assemblage of Spring is the annual gala where new members, who have been sponsored by an existing member, are welcomed into the brotherhood. Other events during the year provide opportunities for learning about wine, celebrating and enjoying the abundance our region provides.
As a chartered member of the Fédération Internationale des Confréries Bachiques (F.I.C.B.)
in Paris, OWB members have the unique opportunity to participate in annual gatherings of F.I.C.B. members in wine regions around the world. We were privileged to welcome over 300 international members to Oregon for the F.I.C.B. International Congress in 2001.
